Chikmagalur does not have an airport and the closest airport is at Mangalore, 150km away. Bangalore airport is also reachable via a 245km scenic drive. Road conditions may vary between seasons, and it is therefore advisable to keep comfortable margins while travelling.
The closest railway station is 40km away at Kadur, which is well-connected to Bangalore. Hassan, located 60km away, also connects well to major Indian cities. It is advisable to reach the station at least thirty minutes prior to your train’s scheduled departure time.

Chikmagalur is connected to the rest of the state as well as neighbouring Kerala via several national highways. National Highway 48 connects Bangalore to Chikmagalur, passing through Hassan.
